Animal Control in Rural Areas
Due to numerous complaints, Council has requested that residents be advised that the Municipality does not have an animal control bylaw for the Municipality at large. Because of that, rural dog owners are requested to keep their dogs under control and to respect the rights of neighboring landowners. Do not let your dogs run at large or bark all night long. If your dog attacks other people or animals, you are responsible.
If you have animals that dogs may want to chase or kill, please ensure that your animals are contained in secure enclosures. If you do not want animals encroaching on your property, ensure that they can’t.
