We are hiring – Administrative Assistant

The MD of Peace is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our team! This position will involve a variety of administrative tasks, including answering phones, handling cash receipts, responding to cemetery inquiries, selling camping permits, creating the weekly newspaper ad, preparing Council meeting agendas and minutes, special event planning, booking hotels, flights, and rental cars, filing and scanning, and providing general support as needed.

Required Competencies:

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat
  • Willingness and ability to learn new skills and attend training
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Dependability and punctuality

Competencies that are an asset but not required:

  • Knowledge and experience with municipal governmental operations and mandate
  • Knowledge and experience with the creation and administration of organizational safety programs
  • Knowledge and experience with social media, website administration, and graphics
  • Knowledge and experience with municipal planning and development
  • Post-secondary training in administration, finance, logistics, communications, or IT systems
