Peace River Municipal Library will be hosting author Sarah Salter as part part of her book launch tour for Trauma as Medicine: a DIY book for healing trauma & transforming your life. In her book, Sarah shares her experience of her mother’s kidnapping and brutal homicide as an inspiring example of how to distill trauma into medicine. Sarah’s story is one of personal healing and bravery, as she seeks to understand her mother’s murderer. She connects with her mother’s murderers family and learns through her trauma of the history of colonization in Canada, systemic racism, and white privilege. In her visit, Sarah will share some of her story, answer questions, and have copies of her book available for purchase.
