  • Wednesdays: 3:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Saturdays: 1:00pm – 5:00pm

NOTE: we have dug our last pit as we will be joining Long Lake Landfill in 2022.

NOTE: All visitors to the Griffin Creek Landfill  must stop by the Landfill Operator’s vehicle on arrival:

  • for instruction/direction to proper placement of load (i.e. burn pile, pit, bins, etc)
  • to provide name, contact info, and land description.
  • PLEASE NOTE: cement, concrete, rocks are no longer accepted.
  • PLEASE NOTE: No grain bags will be accepted unless they are rolled and tied.

The Municipal District of Peace No. 135 would like to remind everyone of the following:

  • We have noticed an increasing amount of garbage in the road ditches leading to the landfill site. When hauling any household garbage, trash, or other items to the landfill, you are requested to ensure that your load is secured so that debris isn’t blowing or falling off your load.
  • The MD pays for 50% of the cost of the recycling bins located in the Village of Berwyn. Your recyclable items such as aluminum and tin cans, glass items, plastics, paper and cardboard can be placed in the recycling bins. Please be conscious of recycling uncontaminated items – clean jars, clean tins, clean cardboard, etc.  You are encouraged to do your part in reducing landfill waste.
  • At the landfill, you are requested to have your items sorted so that everything isn’t just being dumped into the pit. There are several designated areas for such items as wood, metals, wire, tires, electronics, etc.
  • Residents are encouraged to try composting such things as grass clippings and leaves or even explore the option of leaving the mulched grass clippings on your lawn for their nutritional value.
