Fire Ban – effective July 11/24

Effective Immediately – The MD of Peace has upgraded from a fire restriction to a π—™π—œπ—₯π—˜ 𝗕𝗔𝗑. A fire ban prohibits all outdoor fires.
🚫 Not Permitted:
Open fires (brush, bonfires, etc.)
Burn barrels
Fireworks
Fire pits or chimineas

Solid fuel barbecues and smokers (charcoal, pellets, etc.) without an on/off switch

βœ… Permitted:
Cooking and recreational appliances with a switch or valve for on/off control (fire table, electric smoker, pellet, propane, or natural gas barbecues)

 

Smokers using solid fuel (pellets and wood chips) must be auger fed and have an on/off switch.

If operating an OHV on private lands, be EXTREMELY diligent. Make sure to clear debris like dried

Β grasses and leaves from hot parts of the vehicle, such as the muffler, exhaust, under the seat, wheel wells, engine, and manifold. Avoid driving through tall grass. Stay aware of your surroundings and have firefighting equipment and water readily available. Remember, equipment fires, sparks, friction, and hot exhaust can ignite even small amounts of dry fuel, potentially causing wildfires that spread rapidly.
